I have danced at Linda Butler School of Dance since I was seven, and I honestly couldn’t imagine growing up without it!

The teachers are so lovely and supportive, and they have helped me build my confidence so much over the years, both in dance and outside it. I’ve had so many amazing opportunities and made memories that I’ll always look back on fondly.

One of the best things about the school is the friendships you make along the way, with so many people becoming more like family. I loved my time dancing at Linda Butler School of Dance, and although I have now left for university, I visit whenever I can because it’s such a special, lifelong family.

I did ballet, tap, modern and jazz. You can take graded examinations and also perform in regular shows and summer schools.

The teaching is excellent, and not only was I learning to dance, but I also feel I developed lifelong skills which I have taken forward with me. I’m forever grateful to my teachers for their kindness, generosity and care.

I joined Linda Butler School of Dance when I was three and danced there until I left to go to university. I loved performing in the shows and was lucky enough to be in the showcase at Woodley Carnival, which was great fun. I did multiple exams in ballet, tap and modern, and the UCAS points were helpful with my university application. All the teachers were fantastic and very supportive. I was very sad to leave, but immensely grateful for all the amazing memories.

From classes and amazing teachers to making lifelong friendships, the dance school feels like a family through shows and exams!

I danced here from the ages of three to 18, and I miss it so much. I loved all the opportunities that were presented through shows and performing at Woodley Carnival.

Through the school, I learnt so many new skills in dance, as well as skills that have helped me outside dance. The friends I made along the way are some of my best friends, and I loved dancing with them.

I attended Linda Butler many years ago, from the age of five to 18, and I can honestly say they were the best years of my life and something I still very much miss!

Not only was it a fun form of exercise at any age, but it also gave me a wonderful friendship group in addition to my school friends. It taught me discipline and confidence, encouraged my love for dance and performing, and gave me incredible opportunities, such as dancing at the Royal Albert Hall! My Linda Butler family is something I will always cherish, and I would love to relive my dancing days again!

I think the fact that I still see Lyn all these years later, and consider her someone incredibly special and influential in my life, is testament to how special the school is! My sisters and I adore Lyn and all the teachers, and feel very lucky to have had Linda Butler as part of our lives.

There’s so much to say! Learning to dance at Linda Butler School of Dance was one of the best decisions my parents ever made for me.

Linda Butler School of Dance is still my second family, forty years on, or near enough!

We have been part of this wonderful dance school for many years, and it truly feels like a second home to our family.

I attended the school myself from the age of five to 16, and many years later, my daughter has just completed her journey here, having started at just four years old and danced through to 18. It has been incredibly special to watch her experience the same sense of friendship, support and belonging that I remember so fondly from my own childhood.

The school provides such a friendly, caring and supportive environment, whilst maintaining an incredibly high standard of training and achievement. The teachers encourage every student to reach their potential, building not only their confidence and ability as dancers, but also their character and self-belief.

Linda Butler School of Dance has been and continues to be amazing with our four girls and their dance journeys. Two have now moved on to university and continue to dance, while two are still there. They have been given the confidence to perform on stage in groups and as individual dancers. The teachers are fantastic, friendly and hard-working. Our girls have always loved their lessons.

I have only positive things to say about Linda Butler School of Dance! I grew up dancing multiple times a week and loved taking part in everything offered, such as the exams, shows and summer schools. Every teacher is amazing at their job, with their professional training shown consistently. I left the school to go to university three years ago, but I still love staying in contact and going back to watch all the shows and summer schools. This dance school has had such an impact on my life, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I started at Linda Butler when I was a little toddler and stayed there until I moved away for university at 18. I had the best times at this dance school and made so many amazing friends. The Linda Butler School of Dance has been a wonderful place for my daughters. We first joined the school 18 years ago and still have a child progressing through the grades. The girls have been made so welcome here, are extremely happy and have been really well trained in all the disciplines of dance on offer. They have also benefited from performing in the brilliant school show, produced in a local professional theatre, as well as the summer school, which enables them to create a dance show in a week; both are of excellent calibre. If you’re looking for a dance school for your child, you should try Linda Butler, and you won’t turn back! Forty years of experience is hard to beat.

Linda Butler School of Dance is more than just a dance school. Every teacher and pupil makes it into a family, one I love very much. Some of my favourite memories growing up are from my time spent at dance, in classes, backstage and performing at the show. Both my girls have learned to dance at Linda Butler School of Dance since the age of three. I attended the Linda Butler School of Dance for 16 years, and the amazing team of teachers supported me every step of the way. The Linda Butler School of Dance is a fantastic dance school. My daughter has been attending for a number of years now and she loves her weekly dance sessions. They do a brilliant dance show around Easter time which my daughter loves being part of.

My daughter has been taking ballet, tap and modern lessons for the last 3 years and absolutely loves it. She did the show for the first time in 2025 and we were all amazed at how professional the performance was. Highly recommend.

Linda Butler School of Dancing was more than just a place I learned to dance for 15 years; it was an extended family and I love that I still count teachers and pupils as friends more than 30 years after I hung up my dancing shoes. I was never going to set the dance world alight, but Lyn, Shelagh and other teachers gave me so much confidence and the opportunity to dance in various theatres in biannual shows and with other groups (dancing for amateur dramatic productions etc.). Classes were friendly, well structured and challenged every pupil regardless of talent. Every child was included long before this became a ‘thing’! Having moved away after marriage, my one regret is that my children have not been able to attend LBSoD. I have returned regularly to watch the school shows and the standard of dance just gets better and better every time. Most of all, every child on stage evidently loves to dance and is delighted to be performing! I would recommend Linda Butler hands down to anyone!

My daughter joined Linda Butler School of Dance when she was 3. She had 15 happy years there and left when she was 18. All her teachers were fantastic and she especially loved performing in the shows. I must admit I did wonder how she would manage GCSEs and A Levels whilst continuing to dance several times per week but actually dance was an escape and helped her cope with a gruelling exam schedule both physically and mentally. She has now started University and the first society she joined was the Dance one! Thank you Linda & team for supporting her at every stage of her journey and instilling a life long love of dance.

I had such a lovely time at the school. The teachers here are incredible. You learn a lot from them every lesson, whether that’s advice on how to be the best you or learning a new skill in dance.

I loved doing the show for over ten years, along with being at the school for fifteen years, and Lyn is an amazing teacher to have for ballet. It was so much fun having my sister there with me. It brought a lot of memories when you have a role model, apart from the teachers, to look up to.

I could not have asked for better dance teachers. They were all amazing, caring and talented, and were so much fun to be taught by, even during dance exams when things got a little bit panicky.

Coming back to the Linda Butler School of Dance after 2 decades when my daughter began her dance journey felt like coming home.

Having danced with the school from the age of 4 until I was 18, watching my daughter thrive here for the last ten years and continue her dance journey today proves that the school's heart has never changed. Walking in and seeing Lyn at the helm, the exact same leader who guided my own childhood training, bridges the decades perfectly, turning a simple drop-off into a beautiful homecoming.

The teachers treat every dancer like family, beautifully balancing technical discipline with genuine pastoral care. Hearing the familiar count of the music and the scraping of shoes brings back vivid memories of my youth, now seamlessly blended with the joy of watching my daughter make her own every single week.

Decades may have passed, but the dance school still retains its magic, proving that a true passion for dance and community can span generations. The weekly classes, the excitement of the shows and the yearly summer schools still fill me with excitement after all these years.

I loved the 15 years that I spent at Linda Butler School of Dance! All the teachers are very knowledgeable and are clearly passionate about dance. Being able to do a range of dance styles was amazing to increase my dance repertoire. Performing on stage in a theatre multiple times was another bonus which helped me gain confidence, which is something I have taken with me since leaving. The exams which we took also helped me get into university due to the UCAS credits, and since going to university I have been able to continue dancing with the amazing foundation I was given at Linda Butler School of Dance.

Having had a wonderful experience as a pupil at Linda Butler myself, I am delighted that my daughters are also able to attend the school and can’t speak highly enough of their experience. Staff are kind and gentle whilst also maintaining high expectations. The girls love their lessons and can’t wait to take part in the show!

For our family, Linda Butler School of Dance is so much more than just a dance school. Over the last 15 years, our girls have had, and continue to have, so many amazing opportunities to learn, grow and develop as dancers, supported by their amazing teachers.
